From Hard Times to Property Success | Winners on a Wednesday #26

This week’s winners on a Wednesday features the couple Ben Deighton and Abi Pattison. The property journey started after a dark time for the couple as Abi was dealing with depression and severe anxiety. She wasn’t able to work for 9 months.

Ben who had some minor experience in property decided that he wanted to get involved on a bigger scale. He came across Samuel’s YouTube channel and quickly found himself in awe of the quality of the content. He quickly booked himself and Abi to attend Samuel’s crash course.

Here at the crash course, it was a big step forward for Abi who at the time was dealing with anxiety. To find herself amongst a crowd of 1,000 was a major through. Ben was astonished to see Abi stand up and an ask Samuel a question during the live QA in front of the packed audience.

The only strategy before meeting Samuel they were familiar with was a buy, refurbishment and refinance which they had done. After attending the crash course they became exposed to a variety of strategies which they believed they could get involved in and make a profit.

At the time Abi was working as an administrative nurse doing regular 9-5 working hours. Whereas Ben was serving boilers. Shortly after joining the academy they took a huge leap of faith in deciding to quit their jobs.

The confidence they received from joining the academy and the training they undertook especially the course ran by Alasdair. Filled them with the belief that they could quit their jobs going full time into property.

They took on the teachings from the deal packaging course and began to utilize this strategy the most. Locating properties, viewing them and passing them on to the list of investors enabled them to create an income of £2,000 per week.

Getting involved in property hasn’t always been plain sailing there have been bumps in the road. Deals can fall through and Ben and Abi have experienced this. This no more personified then a deal for a block of flats that were due to be rented out as serviced accommodation. The deal was almost set in stone money had been transferred. But in the final hour, they received a call from the estate agent who declared that the property could not be used for short term stays.

In business, setbacks can always occur so resilience is always needed which is what Ben and Abi showed. They were able to offer a full refund to their investors and maintain a positive working relationship with the estate agent.

Being able to source properties and package deals is a vital tool that all investors should have. It’s beneficial for investors to have a sourcer that is reliable and trustworthy. Which is what Ben and Abi have been able to create. Providing a service that will help investors cut down on time and still secure great deals.
