How I Like To Spend My Money – Samuel Leeds

Samuel Leeds

In this article, I want to reveal the kind of thing that I like to spend my money on.

This blog is not a showy off space at all and to be honest, I'm not really a show off person as I live a reasonably simple life considering how well my businesses are doing.

One of the reasons I wanted to become successful is because I wanted to be able to provide a good life for my family and to be able to go on holidays. I wanted to travel as traveling is something that I really enjoy.

The reason as to why I am happy to spend money on travel but not clothes is because I try not to spend money on things that are not tax deductible. However, I just made a massive purchase and the thing is that, I bought a hot tub.

We've been waiting for the hot tub to come for months and when it came, we were ridiculously excited with my wife Amanda in seeing it.

People might be saying, Samuel, how could you spend so much money on a hot tub?

But here's why. We’ve spend close to 100,000 pounds when we went to California and Dubai with my family for a holiday.

I don't have lots and lots of down time that make me happy and I like to spend money on experiences and that’s why we had to get the hot tub which makes us happy.

I have to justify it to Amanda as she’s the tight one when it comes to budgeting and my justification was that we've had to cancel our holidays this year because of corona virus and we won't even want to go on expensive holidays anymore because we've got a beautiful house which would look stunning with a good looking hot tub.

If you look at it, it's like not a hot tub but a cross between a swimming pool and a hot tub as you can literally swim in it according to how big it is.

Here's the thing, I just feel at peace when I'm in water and to get a house with a swimming pool attached onto it, a nice house like mine with a swimming pool, it will be way more expensive and I always used to ask Amanda if she would prefer an indoor pool or an outdoor pool but she wanted neither except a hot tub.

If you're going to get an expensive hot tub or aSamuel Leedsn anything expensive such as a car or clothes, as long as you're paying for it out of your passive income that’s okay. Don't buy something that you cannot afford.

The hot tub we got is completely paid for by our passive income and so, I can justify getting it.

Become financially free so that you can do things like live in a nice house, drive a nice car, and get a hot tub without spending money that does not come from your passive income.

Don't do it of course if you can't afford it and get into bad debt.

The interesting thing is that, banks and companies will let you buy a hot tub such as the one we got as you'll even see them on adverts asking you to pay later but when it comes to buy a house that’s on buy now pay later, people start saying that it sounds dodgy and risky.

In conclusion, invest in nice things and spoil yourself sometimes but only do it when you become financially literate as you’ll be in a position to understand the difference between a good debt and a bad debt.
