Is University a Waste of Time?

Hi I'm Samuel Leeds and I want to answer the question:-

Is University a waste of time?

Is University a scam?

Should you go to University?

Does University set you up for life?

I want to share my opinion as in my Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/778613042238071 at the moment there is a big discussion on this topic.

Here are my thoughts……..

University is neither good or bad!  It's neither a bad or good use of time!  University is University!

University is a tool that can get you to where you want to get to. If you don't know yet even what you want to do with your life then you shouldn't even be in this discussion. You can't really have an opinion! Before you can even have an opinion on this subject you need to know what your goals are and where you are heading in life.

So if your goal in life is to be a doctor then you will need to go to university of course to become a doctor. So therefore in this case University is good and I would say DO IT!

There are lots of jobs that you need to go to University for to get qualified such as Lawyers, Barristers etc so of course you need to go.

What I mean when I say “University is a waste of time” is when your goal doesn't require going to University. If you want to be a property millionaire or run a successful business, guess what – YOU DON'T NEED TO GO TO UNI! So in this case it's a complete waste of your time.

My net worth is £16m and I started from scratch. I have been in property for 12 years and going to University for me would of been a complete waste of time.

My opinion is you need to think it through really carefully and not judge anyone else for what they choose to do.

When it comes to my kids deciding whether to go to University I will be asking them:-

1. What are your goals in life?
2. How are the best ways to achieving that goal?

My biggest piece of advice: Don't go to University just because everyone else does!
